Ueno Zoological Gardens have been actively collecting and displaying native livestock that have lived in Japan since long ago. The zoo has 3 types of horses: Tokara-uma, Yonaguni-uma, and Noma-uma. Among these, Noma-uma is the smallest kind of traditional Japanese horses which were raised for transporting agricultural products and goods near Imabari city in Ehime. In order to let the visitors get familiar with Noma-uma, the zoo will be holding a 2-day commemorative exhibition ”Experience Imabari, the home of Noma-uma.” The event is held on June 1st, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the 2nd, at the children's zoo “Step” in the West Garden. Local products from Imabari will also be available for purchase on both days from 10 a.m. Ueno zoo is open from 9:30 to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4 p.m .General admission is 600 yen. The zoo is a 5 minute walk from JR Ueno Station. 

恩賜上野動物園では、古くから日本人と生活してきた在来家畜の収集・展示に力を入れています。なかでも在来馬は、トカラウマ、ヨナグニウマ、ノマウマの3種類を飼育・展示しています。その中で野間馬は、日本の在来馬のなかで最も小さな種類で、現在の愛媛県 今治市付近で農耕や荷物の運搬用に飼育されていました。この野間馬について多くの皆様に知っていただくため、「野間馬のふるさと・いまばりで遊ぼう！」と題した記念イベントを開催します。日時は、6月1日は、午前10時から午後5時まで。2日は午前10時から午後4時までです。場所は西園の「子ども動物園すてっぷ」です。また、1日と2日の朝10時から、愛媛県今治市の物産の販売も行います。恩賜上野動物園の開園時間は、朝9時半から午後5時ですが、最終入園は午後4時までとなります。入園料は、一般600円です。アクセスはJR「上野駅」から徒歩5分です。

From the end of May to mid June, the Koishikawa Korakuen, a Japanese style garden located in Bunkyo City is the place to see around 660 Japanese iris plants in full bloom. Through June 9th, there will be a wooden walkway set up near the blossoms in their watery flowerbed to let visitors view the flowers up close. During the event, there will be Japanese dance performances on May 25th, starting at noon and 3 p.m.and concerts of ancient Japanese court music on the 26th, starting at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  The shows are free, although you will need to pay admission to get into the park. And please note that the shows will be  canceled in case of rain. This is a great chance to enjoy the elegant beauty of these blooms in an oasis of greenery in Tokyo, so don’t miss it! The special event runs through Sunday, June 9th. Koishikawa Korakuen is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last entry at 4:30 p.m. General admission is 300 yen. The park is a 3 minute walk from C3 exit of Iidabashi Station on the O-Edo Line, or 8 minutes from Iidabashi Station on the JR Sobu Line.

文京区にある小石川後楽園では、5月末から6月中旬にかけて660株のハナショウブが見ごろを迎えます。その見頃の時期に合わせて、6月9日まで「ハナショウブを楽しむ」と題したイベントを開催しています。期間中は、ハナショウブをより近くでご覧いただけるよう菖蒲田の脇に木製の散歩道を設置しています。また5月25日は日本舞踊の公演が午後12時と午後3時の2回、翌26日は舞楽の公演が午前11時半と午後1時半から行われます。どちらも観覧は無料ですが、別途入園料が必要です。なお、雨天の場合は中止です。ぜひ東京のオアシスで、優美なハナショウブに彩られた新緑の美しい田園風景をお楽しみください。イベント開催期間は6月9日（日）まで。小石川後楽園の開園時間は、午前9時から午後5時まで。最終入園は午後4時30分です。入園料は一般300円。アクセスは、都営地下鉄大江戸線の飯田橋駅 C3出口より徒歩3分、またはJR総武線「飯田橋駅」より徒歩8分です。
