Next, we have information about a Tanabata event. Tanabata is a festival that is celebrated every year on July 7th. On this day, the weaver maiden (the star Vega) and the shepherd boy (Altair) are allowed to cross the “river of heaven,” or the Milky Way, to meet for just one day out of the year. In Japan, people write their wishes on Tanzaku or paper strips for writing wishes, and tie them to bamboo leaves and bamboo grass. The Tokyo metropolitan parks, gardens and cemeteries will be celebrating Tanabata again this year, with a display of Tanabata decorations. The parks will have bamboo leaves, Tanzaku, pens, and other tools, so come write your wishes on the paper strips prepared for you at the park. But please note that they are first-come-first-served. Event times and periods will vary depending on the location. For example, Hibiya Park will host its Tanabata event from July 1st to July 7th, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

つづいて、七夕イベントのお知らせです。7月7日は七夕の節句で、おり姫星（こと座のベガ）と、ひこ星（わし座のアルタイル）が一年に一度、天の川を渡って会うことを許された特別な日とされ、日本では、たんざくに色々な願い事を書いて、笹や竹の葉に飾る風習があります。今年も都立公園・庭園・霊園では、七夕の季節に合わせ、皆様による園内での七夕の短冊書きや飾り付けなどの催しを開催しています。笹・短冊・ペンなどの必要な道具をご用意していますが、材料がなくなり次第終了となりますので、ご了承ください。日比谷公園の場合は、7月1日から7月7日まで。時間は、午前9時から午後4時まで開催しています。
