In order to allow foreign travelers in Tokyo to enjoy a safer and more convenient stay in the city, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has released “TOKYO STARTER KIT.” TOKYO STARTER KIT is a special train ticket package that comes with “Tokyo Subway Ticket” allowing unlimited rides on Toei subway and Tokyo metro lines for 72 hours, as well as “Tokyo Metropolitan Bus One-day Ticket.” It also includes a 72-hour medical service benefits including overseas travel insurance for foreign travelers in Japan. This insurance covers 72 hours, from 12 am of the day following your purchase of the kit. Users can download the dedicated app for information on medical facilities, interpretation service at the time of hospital visits, support for passport loss and such. Other benefits include sightseeing guide, coupons, emergency notification in multiple languages and more. The “TOKYO STARTER KIT” can be purchased for 3,000 yen including tax, at Ueno Okachimachi Station Tourist Information Center and Station Master’s Offices located in Toei Oedo Line’s Tocho-mae Station, Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station, Daimon Station, and Toei Asakusa Line’s Shinbashi Station.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will host an international para table tennis championship, ”ITTF PTT Japan Open 2019 Tokyo Games” in August. With the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics just about 1 year away, 200 top athletes from 25 countries around the world will gather in Tokyo to hold exciting games at the venue. The event will be held from August 1st through 3rd, at Minato Sports Center. The venue is a 5 minute walk from JR Tamachi Station’s Shibaura Exit.
