Exclusive footage from the 1964 Tokyo Paralympics is now available online. This video titled "A Song for Social Rehabilitation – Tokyo Paralympics" is a valuable record that captured the 5-day Tokyo Paralympic Games, including the opening ceremony held at Yoyogi Park Athletics Stadium on November 8th, 1964, as well as athletics events, the Olympic Village, cafeteria and the closing ceremony. The footage is currently available on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's official video channel "Tokyo Douga" to be shared with citizens of Tokyo and throughout Japan. The Edo-Tokyo Museum in Ryogoku is hosting a special exhibition titled "Five Ukiyo-E Favorites - Utamaro, Sharaku, Hokusai, Hiroshige, and Kuniyoshi" to introduce the outstanding works in the history of ukiyo-e. This exhibition will focus on five beloved ukiyo-e artists: Kitagawa Utamaro, Toshusai Sharaku, Hokusai Katsushika, Hiroshige Utagawa, and Kuniyoshi Utagawa. Leading Nishikie or colored woodblock prints created by these artists have been gathered from museums, galleries and personal collections around the world are on display. This is a great chance to check out the “must-see” lineup of world-famous ukiyo-e works. The exhibition is being held at the Edo-Tokyo Museum’s Special Exhibition Room on the 1st Floor until January 19th, next year. The museum is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and until 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Please note that entry to the venue is allowed up to 30 minutes before closing. General admission is 1,400 yen. To get to Edo-Tokyo Museum, take the JR Sobu Line to Ryogoku Station and walk about 3 minutes from the West Exit, or take the Toei Oedo Line to Ryogoku station and walk 1 minute from exit A4.
