Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

3rd August 2022

Covid19 infections are spreading rapidly.

While the Omicron strain is less likely to cause severe symptoms, it is more infectious, so there is concern that the number of severe cases will increase in correlation with the spread of infection.

Even young people can become severely ill or have prolonged symptoms after being infected.

If you have not had your 3rd dose vaccination, please consider getting it soon so that you can enjoy your summer worry-free.

Next up is some information on 4th dose vaccinations.

Eligibility for 4th dose vaccinations is limited to those who are aged 60 or older, or those aged 18-59 who have an underlying health condition or are recognized by a doctor as being at high risk of developing severe symptoms due to pregnancy or lifestyle-related habits such as smoking or lack of exercise.

If you are at risk of developing severe symptoms but are worried about vaccination, please consult your doctor or a nearby medical institution as soon as possible.

If this is not possible, consultation is available at the pre-vaccination examination.

For general enquiries about vaccination, please call the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center’.

Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
