The January 1st editions of “Koho Minato”, a Japanese newsletter, and Minato Monthly, an English newsletter, will introduce the traditional cultural exchange center and the science museum, due to open on 1st April this year.

There will also be the annual New Year’s fun quiz.

If you answer the questions and enter the draw, you could win a book token.

The subsection in charge at Minato City Hall is the Public Relations Subsection of the Office of the Mayor.


An event called ‘Amazing Japanese Traditional Instrument “OKOTO”!’, part of a Minato City project to introduce traditional culture, will introduce the appeal of the “koto”, through duets with a shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute), and joint performances featuring contemporary dance. English interpreters will be available, and entry is free.

The date and time will be Sunday 23rd February, from 2pm-4pm and the venue will be the Civic Hall at Takanawa Civic Center. There are 250 places available, which will be allocated in order of application.
