Information on the School Attendance Subsidy / Spring Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign

Minato Voice
2021/04/05

Minato City’s School Affairs Section subsidizes the cost of school supplies and school lunches etc. for parents of children who are enrolled in public elementary and junior high schools, but have difficulty attending school for financial reasons.

Those eligible are families whose members are Minato City residents who receive public welfare assistance or Child-rearing Allowance, or whose income for last year meets the income criteria set by the Minato City Board of Education.

If you attend a Minato municipal elementary or junior high school, your school will distribute the 'information on the School Attendance Subsidy', 'application form', and 'submission envelope'.

Please submit your application by post to the School Administration Support Subsection, School Affairs Section, Minato City Hall, zip code 105-8511.

Alternatively, you can submit it in person to School Administration Support Subsection of the School Affairs Section on the 7th floor of Minato City Hall.

Applications must be received by Friday 16th April.

If you attend a public elementary or junior high school outside of Minato City, please enquire with the subsection in charge at Minato City Hall - that’s the Administration Support Subsection of the School Affairs Section.

The telephone number is 03-3578-2731.

---

The Spring Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign period runs from Tuesday 6th - Thursday 15th April.

The number of traffic accidents in Minato City in 2020 was 900, a decrease of 356 compared to 2019, but the number of accidents involving children and senior citizens has not fallen.

Please continue to adhere strictly to traffic rules and manners, and help end traffic accidents.

The 4 main points of this year’s Spring Nationwide Traffic Safety Campaign are as follows:

1) Ensuring the safety of pedestrians including children and the elderly.

2) Promoting the safe use of bicycles.

3) Improving awareness of safe driving, including protection of pedestrians, etc.

4) The Prevention of  traffic accidents involving two wheeled vehicles.

Saturday 10th April is the day when there is a target of zero deaths from traffic accidents.

Each and every one of us should follow the rules so that we can rid of traffic accidents.

The subsection in charge at Minato City Hall is the Community Transportation Subsection of the Community Transportation Section.
