'Minato Information Board’ / International Disaster Relief Volunteers Sought

Every Friday, ‘Minato Information Board’ on Facebook provides information on Minato City’s internationalization activities and events, as well as useful information for everyday life, in ‘easy Japanese’, English, Chinese and Korean.

There is also an AI based Chatbot service.

If you click on the ‘enquiries’ button and ask a question on a topic such as daily living information, you will receive an AI response in chat format.

Minato City is seeking international disaster relief volunteers to provide foreign nationals with accurate information and aid smooth communication in the event of a disaster.


Those eligible are people who can do all of the following:

perform interpretation and translation of foreign languages and Japanese attend training conducted in Japanese be contacted via email conduct volunteer activities when a disaster strikes undertake activities in Minato City.


Volunteer activities cover:

[In the event of a disaster] interpretation at places such as evacuation shelters in Minato City and consultation desks for foreign nationals, as well as translation of disaster information, [During normal times] interpretation at disaster prevention drills and events.


To apply, please download the application form from the Minato City website, fill in the necessary items, and submit it by post or in person to the Global Community Planning Subsection of the Community Promotion Section on the 3rd floor of Minato City Hall.
