This week’s edition begins with information on the distribution of free seedlings for greenery curtains.
To alleviate the effects of the strong summer sun, Minato City recommends the use of 'greenery curtains'. These are created by putting netting up against the walls of buildings, and growing climbing plants such as bitter melon, Japanese morning glory, and balloon vine etc. up them, so they cover the building like a curtain.
To help Minato City residents grow greenery curtains at home etc, the city will distribute free seedlings a total of six times from Saturday 18th May. A maximum of 2 bags is allowed per person. Please go direct to the distribution points.
For information on distributions dates and venues, please see the May edition of Minato Monthly or the Minato City website.
The subsection on charge is the Global Environment Subsection of the Environmental Section at Minato City Hall.
