Multilingual Consultation / Multilingual Information Corners

Minato Voice

Multilingual consultation is available at Minato City counters via TV interpretation services that use portable voice translators and tablet, as well as by foreign consultation staff. 

The service is available to everyone, so if you require an interpreter, please let staff know. 

Foreign consultation staff can provide consultation in Japanese and English.


The portable voice translator can speak through a translation device in over 80 languages.

It is deployed at each Regional City Office, at daycare facilities, and at elementary and junior high schools, etc.


The TV interpretation service using a tablet supports the following 13 languages:

English, Chinese, Korean/North Korean, French, Hindi, Indonesian, Nepali, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Thai, Vietnamese.


Three-way telephone consultations via the interpreter call center are also possible.

Minato City introduces events and other information useful in daily life in multilingual pamphlets and leaflets.

The pamphlets and leaflets are distributed as a ‘welcome package’ to people who visit Minato City Hall to register as residents, but they are also available to read freely at  Multilingual Information Corners. 


The Multilingual Information Corners are located on the first floor of Shiba Regional City Office and the area in front of Counter 304 on the 3rd Floor of Minato City Hall.


Available languages are English, Korean, and Chinese. Some materials are not available in certain languages.
