Minato City creates pamphlets and leaflets introducing systems and rules that are useful in daily life in multiple languages. These pamphlets and leaflets are put in bags and distributed as welcome packages to people who arrive at Minato City Hall to  register their address, but they are also available at the Multilingual Information Corner.

Available languages are English, Korean, and Chinese. (Depending on the materials, they may not be available in certain languages.)

Welcome packages can be found on the first floor of Shiba Regional City Office, and in front of Counter 304 on the 3rd Floor of Minato City Hall.

For enquiries, please call the Global Community Planning Subsection of the Community Promotion Section at Minato City Hall on 03-3578-2303 or 03-3578-2308.

-----

Minato City conducts HIV testing for early discovery and onset prevention of AIDS.

The onset of AIDS occurs when the immune system is compromised due to HIV infection.

Even if you have contracted HIV, there is a period of 3-10 years on average when you will be symptom free, so you will not realize you have contracted the virus unless you are tested. AIDS medications have progressed to the point where they can slow the onset of the disease if you start the appropriate treatment at an early stage.

Being tested leads to early discovery and onset prevention.

It is also important to know if you are HIV positive in order to prevent transmitting the virus to other people.

HIV/STD tests should be taken after 60 days have passed since possible infection. Test items are HIV, syphilis, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. The tests will be conducted in order of reservation. Reservation is required and should be conducted over the telephone.

Minato Public Health Center conducts the tests basically every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month.

AI Checks (tests conducted at clinics in Minato City) are available to those who live work or study in Minato City. The checks are carried out at designated clinics in the city.

All tests are anonymous and free of charge.

For details on each test, please see the Minato City website.

The subsection in charge at Minato City Hall is the Public Health and Disease Prevention Subsection of the Public Health and Disease Prevention Section.
