Minato City will hold the peace assembly to think about the importance of peace with city residents. 

There will be activity reports from the Minato City Youth Association for Peace, and a peace memorial concert by an orchestra. 

The event will be an opportunity to realise anew the importance of peace, and staff look forward to your arrival.

Advance reservation is required to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Sign language interpretation is available. Admission is free.

The schedule may change depending on the situation regarding coronavirus infections.

The date and time of the event is Saturday 21st August, from 2pm - 4pm. 

Doors will open at 1:30pm.

The venue will be Libra Hall on the 1st floor of Minato Park Shibaura.

104 places are available in order of reservation.

The first part of the event is entitled “Handing Down our Thoughts on Peace - The Minato City Youth Association for Peace’s Activity Report Meeting”. 

The second part will be the peace memorial concert.

On 15th August 1985, Minato City issued its Declaration as a City of Peace, calling for the abolition of nuclear weapons and permanent world peace.

Based on this Declaration, Minato City is engaged in various activities towards the realization of world peace. 

As a part of these activities, in April 2010 the city joined “Mayors for Peace,” a global coalition of cities that seeks the abolition of nuclear weapons.

Together with other cities around the world that are working towards the realization of world peace, Minato City will continue to send out a message about the importance and preciousness of peace.

The subsection in charge at Minato City Hall is the Human Rights and Gender Equality Subsection of the General Affairs Section.
