From winter to spring, there are many cases of food poisoning caused by the highly contagious norovirus.

Norovirus is transmitted by eating raw or undercooked contaminated bivalve shellfish, or by eating or drinking with virus-contaminated hands.

Infection can also occur through eating food prepared by an infected person or inhaling the virus when it has become airborne from an infected person’s faeces or vomit.

You should ensure good food hygiene and wash your hands thoroughly to stay healthy.

品川区からのお知らせです。

冬から春にかけて、非常に強い感染力をもったノロウイルスによる食中毒が多発します。

ノロウイルスは、ウイルスに汚染された二枚貝などを、生や、加熱不十分で食べたり、ウイルスのついた手での飲食が原因で感染します。

また、感染者により調理されたものを食べたり、感染者の便や嘔吐物から空気中に浮遊したウイルスを吸い込むことでも感染します。

食品の衛生管理や手洗いをしっかりと行い、健康に過ごしましょう。
