Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
16th September 2026
This week's edition is on the ‘Autumn Satoyama Garden Festa 2026’.
Why not take a stroll through the Autumn Satoyama, where approximately 130,000 flowers bloom?
The Autumn Satoyama Garden Festa is being held in Satoyama Garden, adjacent to Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia, until Sunday 27th September. Entry to the venue is free. The highlight of the garden is the approximately 10,000㎡ large flowerbed, one of the largest in Yokohama City.
This autumn’s large flowerbed, themed ‘Rainbow Hill’, is vibrantly coloured like a rainbow, featuring approximately 130,000 flowers of around 70 varieties—including yellow cosmos, zinnias and salvias—in shades ranging from red, orange and yellow to blue.
The “Welcome Garden”, designed and curated by Masashi Mikami, the PR ambassador for Yokohama’s flowers and greenery, features a photo spot where visitors can enjoy taking photographs against the backdrop of the Yokohama Green Expo logo, alongside heart-shaped sculptures inspired by the character ‘Tunku Tunku’ and colourful flowers reminiscent of a rainbow, all of which adorn the flowerbed.
During the event period, there will be food trucks selling lunches and sweets made with locally sourced ingredients, and sales of bread and sundries by welfare organisations in the city, as well as exhibitions etc. related to flowers, green and the environment.
A stamp rally that is open to all will also be held. If you collect the stamps, you can receive benefits such as a 50% discount on Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia’s weekday entry fee, or ¥200 off the fee for Forest Adventure Yokohama or Trail Adventure Yokohama.
