In Yokohama City, following the lifting of the state of emergency, facilities for use by citizens’ that were closed to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection are reopening in stages.
Zoos in the City, "Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia", "Nogeyama Zoo" and "Kanazawa Zoo", resumed operation from 11th June.
To ensure the safety of visitors, Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia may restrict entry if it gets crowded.
Also, Nogeyama Zoo, has partial restrictions on usage in place, such as limiting opening hours to Tuesday to Friday throughout June, so please check opening dates, etc.
Visitors are being asked to wear masks to prevent the spread of infection.
Thermography checks are also being carried out before entry to the zoo, so there may be a wait during busy times.
As well as this, for the time being, experiences including events, talks by guides, interaction with animals, and environmental education programs for groups have also been canceled.
