Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week’s edition is on GREEN EXPO 2027 Yokohama Japan.

Welcome to a journey across the Earth, adorned with ten million flowers and plants.

GREEN EXPO 2027 Yokohama Japan will be held from March to September 2027 at the former Kamiseya Communication Facility, which straddles the Seya and Asahi wards.

The theme is "Scenery of the Future for Happiness." This international exposition encourages reflection on people's lives and the future of the planet through flowers and greenery, agriculture and food, and the power of nature.

The venue will feature a diverse range of attractions, including beautiful gardens and a magnificent landscape created by 10 million flowers, as well as exhibits showcasing garden cultures from around the world and introducing food, agriculture, and horticulture, along with hands-on programs. People of all ages, from children to adults, can have fun whilst learning and feel closer to nature and the environment.

The Expo is also being created in collaboration with the city’s residents. There are growing opportunities for many people to participate, such as initiatives to brighten up the city with flowers and greenery, and community activities. The event will be an important platform for showcasing the charm of Yokohama to the world and for passing on an environmentally harmonious future lifestyle to the next generation.

Yokohama City is moving forward with preparations, aiming to create an Expo that will lead people to say, ‘People’s awareness and actions regarding the environment changed after Yokohama in 2027’.
