On Tuesday, September 8th, a new breeding facility, "Panda no Mori", will open in the zoo’s West Garden, featuring giant pandas and other animals that live in their native habitat. 

"Panda no Mori" covers a vast area of 6,800 square meters, with trees, rocks and water recreated based on the land of Sichuan in China, the home of the giant pandas. 

In addition to the giant pandas, the facility exhibits red pandas and Chinese pheasants that live in the same habitat.

9月8日（火）、恩賜上野動物園の西園に、ジャイアントパンダとその生息地に暮らす動物の新しい飼育施設「パンダのもり」がオープンします。

「パンダのもり」では、およそ6,800平方メートルの広大な敷地に、ジャイアントパンダのふるさとである中国の四川省をモデルにして、木や岩、水場が再現されています。

ジャイアントパンダの他、ジャイアントパンダと同じ生息地に暮らすレッサーパンダや中国のキジ類の展示施設も、エリア内に併設しています。

入園には、事前に整理券の予約が必要です。

続いて、新型コロナウイルス感染症防止対策についてのお願いです。

重症化リスクの高い高齢者層と同居されている場合は、特に、家庭内での感染拡大を防止することが、重要です。

家庭内感染を防ぐため、通勤や会食などで外出する際は、感染防止を万全にしてください。

会食の際は、長時間の飲食、至近距離や大声での会話を控えてください。

そして、帰宅したら、すぐに手洗いと消毒をしてください。

タオルやコップなどの日用品を、家族それぞれ別々に使用するなど、日常の細かいことも含めて、ご注意ください。

高齢者、そして、家庭内に感染を広げないという強い意識をもって、生活しましょう。
